Pekka Haavisto is a member of parliament for the Green League of Finland since 2007. During his long and distinguished career, he has served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister for Development, and Minister for Climate. From 2005 to 2007, Haavisto served as the EU special representative to the Sudan and Darfur region. He also served as head of the UN Environment Programme in Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq, Liberia, Palestine and Sudan. He lives in Helsinki.
