Expert Bio

Laura Iesue is a Ph.D. recipient from the University of Miami’s Department of Sociology & Criminology as well as former fellow with the University of Miami’s Institute for the Advanced Study of the Americas. Her research analyzes how violence impacts individuals and communities and relevant criminal justice policy responses to violence, with a special interest in understanding how violence impacts international migration and internal displacement in Central America.
