Kyle Mitchell
Serious Games Initiative Research Assistant/Intern
Expert Bio
Kyle Mitchell is a Research Assistant/Intern for the Serious Games Initiative within the Science and Technology Innovation Program at the Wilson Center. He graduated from Boston University in May 2016 with a BA in neuroscience. While at BU, Kyle became deeply interested in computational neuroscience, artificial intelligence through neural networks, and, more specifically, how to implement said networks into a digital game. To that end, he currently attends American University and will be receiving his MA in Game Design in May 2018. Within the Serious Games Initiative, Kyle is exploring his other ruling passions—the nature of games as dynamic systems through which we all can learn, the fascinating intersection between public policy and gaming, and the most elusive question of what makes a game serious.
