John Burzawa is a Staff Assistant Intern at the Wilson Center, working closely with both the Mexico and Canada Institutes. His research focuses on topics related to North America including USMCA, economic competitiveness, supply-chain resilience, and migration. John is a senior at American University finishing his degrees in Economics and International Studies. Prior to joining Wilson, he completed internships in the DC area at Ernst & Young, the Cato Institute, and Foreign Policy. His work leverages empirical methods and quantitative modeling, focusing on topics including small businesses and innovation, technological and human development, economic progress, regulatory policy, and international trade. John is originally from Chicago, IL, and speaks English, Spanish, and Greek.
