Expert Bio

Emma Kate is a senior studying Public Management, Leadership, and Policy at The Ohio State University's John Glenn College of Public Affairs, with a specialization in Nonprofit Studies and minors in History & Political Science. While from Dayton, Ohio, Emma Kate's interest in Canadian-U.S. relations began this past summer when she worked in Ottawa for a Member of Parliament in the House of Commons. This experience sparked her passion for international relations, especially for North American relations & trade, Canada's North, and topics relating to Indigenous peoples. These research interests drew Emma Kate to the Canada Institute and its unique focus on bilateral Canada-U.S. relations. As a Staff Intern, she conducts research, creates infographics on key issues affecting both Canada and the United States, organizes events, and helps manage the Canada Institute’s social media accounts. Previously, Emma Kate interned for the United States Senate, the Ohio Democratic Party, and the March of Dimes. She has also worked in Undergraduate Student Government and as a grader for a policy writing class at the John Glenn College of Public Affairs. Lastly, Emma Kate served as the Vice President of Philanthropy on the Executive Board of Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity.
