Expert Bio
Christopher Phalen is a research assistant at the Wilson Center’s Argentina Project. He is a Master’s student at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), concentrating in Latin American Studies and International Economics, with specializations in Emerging Markets and Finance. For the summer of 2017, he served as an associate at DAX Energy in Santiago, Chile, developing and financing renewable energy projects in Argentina and Chile. Christopher has extensive experience in public policy, natural resources and infrastructure development. Prior to SAIS, he worked for Rio Tinto in Washington, D.C., on political, communications and financing projects. He has also held intern positions at the Organization of American States and in the U.S. House of Representatives. He received his Bachelor’s from George Washington University, graduating with honors in Latin American and Hemispheric Affairs.
