Andrea Capurro is the Chief of Program Staff of The Ocean Foundation and acts as an Advisor for Marine Protected Areas at Agenda Antártica. She played a key role in the Argentinean team that led to the proposal of a marine protected area (MPA) in the West Antarctic Peninsula, contributing to planning for trade-offs between conserving the ecological community and the needs of people, and continues to support the process led by Argentina and Chile at CCAMLR. She holds a bachelor’s degree in marine biology from the University of Buenos Aires and a master’s degree in environmental management from the Instituto Tecnológico Buenos Aires.
