AKHTAR ALI is an energy consultant who focuses on energy policy, investments, and tariff issues. He is also a visiting professor of energy at Karachi’s Institute of Business Management. Previously, he held senior management appointments in Pakistan’s public and private sectors, including chief executive of Karachi Pipe Mills. He was also a research fellow at Harvard University’s Kennedy School. His books include Pakistan’s Energy Development: The Road Ahead (Royal Book Company, 2010).
