U.S.- Mexico Regional Economic Competitiveness Forums 2014
The Mexico Institute is pleased to partner with USAID Mexico, the Council of State Governments West, the U.S. Congressional Border Caucus, and the North American Research Partnership on the “U.S.- Mexico Regional Economic Competitiveness Forums 2014.” This initiative brings together key business, government and other stakeholders to discuss the future of the U.S.-Mexico border economy with particular emphasis on four crossborder regions. Discussion topics will include current developments, best practices and innovations in the integration of the ports of entry (infrastructure, investment and innovation), border management, and the state of the regional economy.
The Mexico Institute and the North American Research Partnership have co-authored this thought paper for the launch of the forums and a final report that was launched in Washington, DC in February 2015.
Dates for the regional forums are the following:
- San Diego (California – Baja California): Friday, March 20-21.
- Nogales, Sonora (Arizona-Sonora): Friday, May 16.
- Laredo, Texas (Texas-Nuevo Leon/Coahuila/Tamaulipas): Tuesday, July 1
- El Paso, Texas (Texas/New Mexico/Chihuahua): Friday, September 12
