Wendy Z. Goldman is the Paul Mellon Distinguished Professor of History at Carnegie Mellon University.  She is the author of numerous books and articles on women, industrialization, the Great Terror, and the impact of WWII in the Soviet Union.  She is the author of Fortress Dark and Stern: The Soviet Home Front during War II (coauthor, Donald Filtzer) (Oxford University Press, 2021), Inventing the Enemy: Denunciation and Terror in Stalin’s Russia (Cambridge University Press, 2011), and Terror and Democracy in the Age of Stalin: The Social Dynamics of Repression (Cambridge University Press, 2007.) Her books and articles have been translated into many languages, including Italian, Russian, Czech, Spanish, and Portuguese.
