Expert Bio

Symeon Symeou has been the Head of Compliance and AMLCO of AstroBank Public Company Limited since 2020.  Prior to this, and since the establishment of AstroBank in 2007, Symeon held the position of the Head of the International Banking Unit. He started his banking career in 1984 with Hellenic Bank Ltd where he worked in various positions in Operations and Credit before moving to Hellenic Bank Investments as a Licensed Stockbroker and subsequently as Head of the Brokerage Division. From 2004 to 2007, Mr. Symeou worked in the Moscow Representative Office of Hellenic Bank PLC, where he held the position of Chief Representative Officer.

 

Mr. Symeou holds an MBA in Banking and Finance from HOFSTRA University USA, a Bachelor of Finance from UMIST United Kingdome, and a Bachelor in Hotel Administration from New York Institute of Technology USA.  He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of British and Wales and holds both the CySEC Advance Certificate of Financial Services and the AML Certification.
