Expert Bio

Roman Badanin has been working as a journalist in leading Russian media organizations for 20 years. Previously, he worked as a first deputy editor-in-chief at Gazeta.Ru, editor-in-chief at Forbes Digital (Russia), RBC news agency, and at TV Rain. From 2017 to 2019 he was a  a JSK Journalism Fellow and a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Future at Stanford University.

He is currently the founder and editor-in-chief at The Project (Proekt), an independent investigative media outlet, launched 1.5 years ago.
