Nour Al Ghraowi is a Syrian poet, writer, activist, and educator from Damascus, now based in Brooklyn, New York. She holds a BA in English Literature from The University of Texas at Austin and an MFA in Poetry from Texas State University. Nour works as a Donor Relations and Communication Specialist at Karam Foundation and is a 2023 Define American Fellow. Her work has appeared in Poetry Magazine, Dame Magazine, Mizna Literary Journal, Porter House Review, and World Literature Today. Nour aims to change Western perceptions of the Middle East and the Arabic language. Her writing focuses on social justice, migrant identity, immigrant experiences, and feminism, especially as a Middle Eastern woman.
