Mércia Consolação Silva

Mércia C. Silva is director of InPACTO , a national pact that involves private sector in the public and private agenda to eradicate slavery in supply chains. She has worked for over fifteen years as a coordinator and researcher on programs designed to monitor labor rights, sustainability, and environmental issues in national and multinational companies in Brazil. As a consultant for the International Labor Organization (ILO), Silva wrote a handbook on ILO Conventions to help unions negotiate with companies in 2008, which has been published around the world. From 2006 to 2007, Silva was a Fulbright Scholar as a “Hubert Humphrey Fellow” of the U.S. State Department at the University of Maryland. She holds an M.A. in Political Science from the University of São Paulo (USP).
