Expert Bio
Ekaterina Schulmann is an Associate Professor at the Moscow School of Social and Economic Sciences (MSSES) and Associate Fellow with the Russia and Eurasia Programme at Chatham House. She is also a senior lecturer at the School of Public Policy of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA). She is the author of the books "Legislation as a Political Process", ‘Practical Politology: manual on contact with reality’ (collection of articles), "The New Autocracy: Information, Politics, and Policy in Putin's Russia" (chapter "Parliament and Law-making", co-authored with Ben Noble), and a regular contributor to Vedomosti, The New Times, Republica, Colta.ru, Carnegie.ru and others. Previously, she worked as a deputy’s assistant, political faction analyst, and expert in analytical department of the Russian State Duma.
