Moscow playwright Elena Gremina's searing investigation into the death of Russian lawyer Sergei L. Magnitsky, who died while in pre-trial detention in 2009, will have its North American premiere at the Kennan Institute. The play juxtaposes moving and chilling testimony and documents from Magnitsky's diary; a radio interview with his mother; two judges; a prison doctor and paramedic; an investigator; and a young ambulance paramedic.

"One Hour Eighteen" is produced by Philip Arnoult's Center for International Theatre Development, with Russian director Yury Urnov (who also translated the original Russian text with Stephen Nunns) and American actors.

This event will be held in the 6th Floor Flom Auditorium.
