A Film Screening of "Reportero"
“Reportero” follows a veteran journalist, Sergio Haro, for the independent paper Zeta. Zeta is a weekly paper in Tijuana which regularly reports on cartel related murders and corrupt politicians. In a country where more than 40 journalists have been killed since 2006 being a journalist, particularly one who won’t be silenced by the cartels, is very dangerous. The films fundamental question is, as the drug war intensifies and the risks to journalists become greater, will the free press be silenced?
