In a highly distinguished 26 year career Nicolas Burns held many of the most important postings in American diplomacy. From that vantage point he foresees a need for a newly assertive American foreign policy, rooted in traditional values and oriented to a multicultural world. He is also convinced that only a cohesive and prosperous domestic society can provide the confident energy the country will need to secure its international goals.
