Washington, DCThe Wilson Center announced today that Aaron David Miller, Vice President of New Initiatives and Director of the Middle East Program will become a Global Fellow as he begins his new position as a Senior Fellow at The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

Miller came to the Wilson Center after a distinguished 24 year career  at the Department of State. Between 2006 and 2012 Miller was a Public Policy Scholar and wrote his fourth book The Much Too Promised Land: America's Elusive Search for Arab-Israeli Peace. Miller then joined the staff as Vice President for New Initiatives and Distinguished Scholar.

In 2014, Miller published The End of Greatness: Why America Can't Have (and Doesn't Want) Another Great President which explores the concept of greatness in the presidency and the ways in which it has become both essential and detrimental to America and the nation's politics.

Tasked with bringing new ways to meld the world of  policy and politics, Miller was instrumental in the creation the Congressional Foreign Policy Fellowship Program and the Ground Truth Briefings, a podcast series that analyzes fast-breaking foreign policy headlines and trend lines from hot spots around the globe.

Miller departs after helping The Wilson Center rise to be the number-one think tank in the world for regional studies and one of the top five think tanks in the United States.
